Family Discipleship Training Weekend

If you’ve been to a past Training Weekend, this one will feel different. Instead of longer teaching sessions, we’ve designed this evening to be practical coaching. We will be hosting 4 breakout groups, each targeted at a specific aspect of parenting. You’ll choose 3 of these breakouts to rotate through during the evening, where you’ll receive practical coaching on discipling and parenting your children. Check out the list of our Breakouts below:

  1. Discipline for Joyled by Chet - How age-appropriate discipline leads your children to a joy-filled life.

  2. Family Worshipled by Spencer - How to teach your kids the Bible through intentional moments of your making.

  3. Kids Who Make Centsled by Raz - How to train the next generation in generosity, work, and godly money habits.

  4. Discipling Daughters led by Matt - How to shape and shepherd the priceless gift of our daughters.

How To Prepare for this Training Weekend

  • Tune into our new podcast: Trial by Father! As the host, Isaac sat down across from experienced parents to ask all sorts of questions, ranging from discipline to encouraging high schoolers in the faith. Episodes go live every Tuesday morning. We designed the teaching in this podcast to prepare you for a night of practical coaching. Make the most of Training Weekend by listening to these episodes ahead of time. Check it out here!

  • Check out the resources below. We listed some of our favorite books on parenting, as well as our Family Discipleship website: Roadmap.

  • Come with your questions. Each breakout is designed to have intentional time to interact with your questions, so come prepared to open a dialogue about what you’re specifically facing as a parent. This night will be less fruitful if you did not listen to the episodes from Trial By Father and did not come with questions.

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

1 Timothy 4:7-8

We have Training Weekends every year in order to train ourselves for godliness. Each one is themed in order to equip us to be biblically grounded men and women in every aspect of life. We look forward to seeing you at our next one, but until then, listen to our previous training weekends (below)!
