Though everyone deserves death, Jesus gives life to those He came to save. He does it only because of His own graciousness. You cannot earn it, and that is fantastic news.

Gospel Basics Week 3: The Beauty of the Grace

Scripture

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:4-7

o   How does that change the way you think about God and yourself?

o   Do you see areas in your life where you have been trying to earn God’s favor?

o   How should grace change the way you live your daily life?
